Dear Parents,

We all share the excitement as Phase Two of our new building nears completion. Our youth, especially, are full of anticipation since during this phase the facilities are being constructed that will finally provide us with ample space for all of our weekly youth programs.

Over the past year, the youth of our Shul have expressed interest in making a lasting contribution to the new building. In order to be inclusive and to make it possible for any young person to literally “be a part of the new building,” we have decided on a new and exciting venture for all the youth.

By contributing $36 a young person will be designated a Youth Builder, and a contribution of $18 will make him or her a Youth Supporter. Collectively these contributions will add up to a sizable amount, which will be used to dedicate the Youth Corridor, a new dedication category at $18,000 that has been reserved for this project. This Youth Corridor - the main hallway through the Administrative/Youth Wing – will be surrounded by the classrooms where youth groups will take place each week.

A beautiful plaque with the engraved names of all the Youth Builders and Youth Supporters will be placed in the Youth Corridor to remind us for years to come of all those involved in this meaningful project. Each name on the plaque will be remembered as a member of the young generation that experienced this momentous period in Shomrei Emunah history. As our Youth Builders and Supporters mature, their name etched on this plaque will remind them and - one day - their children, of the special endeavor of which they were an integral part.

All parents and grandparents are encouraged to explain to older children what a special opportunity this is to give and/or to contribute on behalf of each younger child. To qualify as a Youth Builder or Supporter, one must be a child or grandchild of a Shomrei member and be between the ages of 0 and 18 by Shavuos 2008/5767. At that point the project will conclude, and our youth will already be benefiting from the new facilities.
